Traditional Japanese Tattooing, Passed Down Through Generations – The Kishaku Horichukyo Horitake

A true traditional tattoo studio that carries the spirit of pride through authentic craftsmanship.
The Kishaku style of tattooing was born in Nagoya by Yamashita Kishaku (Taisho 8 – Heisei 7 / 1919–1995). This tradition was carried on by the second-generation master Kishaku Hori, Horichukyo Horitake (Showa 24 – Reiwa 7 / 1949–2025), continuing through the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras.

Today, the legacy is inherited by the second-generation Horitake, who has been practicing in Ikebukuro for over 27 years.
All tattoo sessions are conducted in private, quiet rooms, allowing us to carefully craft each piece while building a one-on-one relationship with every client.

A tattoo is for life. That’s why it’s essential to trust a skilled and traditionally trained specialist.
For those seeking authentic Japanese traditional tattoos—
We honor the original techniques, aesthetic beauty, and deep meaning behind each design. We approach every request with respect and precision.

Please feel free to consult with us with confidence.

Tebori

Tebori is a historically traditional, freehand tattooing style that utilizes the stick-and-poke method, which we offer at our studio.
For those seeking the full essence of traditional Japanese tattoos, including background elements, this can be achieved through multiple sessions of 4 to 6 hours each.
Additionally, Japanese tattoos are highly adaptable. They look natural at every stage and can be expanded upon at any time, if you decide to continue your tattoo on a future trip to Japan.
Regarding our small tattoos, they are perfect as meaningful souvenirs, and can be completed in 1 to 6 hours.
If you’re interested in a smaller tattoo version, please feel free to ask me for more details.
Please note that it may be difficult to book an appointment on short notice. We recommend making a reservation at least three months in advance.
